The iPointer® Server, including our patented Geospatial Search Engine, provides an elegant platform for developing next generation mobile applications and Location-based Services (LBS).

iPointer® Platform Architecture

The iPointer® Server runs in Linux or Windows XP environments. Most application servers will suffice as a host for the iPointer® Server; however, we do require an Oracle 10gR2 database server.  The good news is that we offer the iPointer® Server as a hosted service when building one of your own is not a cost effective option.  

Developers building iPointer®-enabled applications can configure the iPointer® to access a broad variety of multimedia content sources such as proprietary databases, Web services, and content management systems to be included in the search result. The iPointer®’s ability to identify specific locations based on user selection provides powerful capabilities for mobile application developers, such as being able to include highly targeted advertising content in the search results.

The iPointer® Toolbox allows developers to configure the iPointer® Geospatial Search Engine and Content Aggregator by defining the data sources to be included in the search results and defining behaviors for iPointer® enabled location based services.
